Hope is the feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen or the feeling that events will turn out for the best. Allah commands us to never lose hope in His mercy and forgiveness. Allah catches the attention of mankind by calling out. Without exception, every person has a challenge or difficulty in their life. Losing hope in Allah’s mercy is likened to disbelieving in Allah. The believer calls on Allah in fear and hope: fear of His displeasure, and hope in His mercy and approval of us. Allah says:
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ
“Verily, they would hasten to good deeds and supplicate to Us in hope and fear, and they were humbly submissive to Us.” (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:90)
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it and to work for it and to fight for it. The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof. Allah says:
‘Certainly, is for you in (the) Messenger (of) Allah an excellent example for (one) who has hope (in) Allah and the Day the Last, and remembers Allah much.” (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:21)
Hope is the feeling of positivity and an optimistic state of mind which gives an instinct to people those coming ways would be easier than what has been past. We keep moving forward with optimism because hope allows us to envisage a better future or a good outcome. Hope is also a very personal thing and it is important that you do not measure your goals influenced by others. Your aspirations are personal and important to you.
The Power of Hope Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:
- “…So be not of the despairing.” (Quran 15:55)
- “…After a difficulty, Allah will soon grant relief.” (Quran 65:7)
- “…After a difficulty, Allah will soon grant relief.” (Quran 65:7)

- “And the next life is certainly far better for you than this one.” (Quran 93:4)
- “God is with you and will never deprive you of your (good) deeds.” (Quran 47:35)
- “And ˹surely˺ your Lord will give so much to you that you will be pleased.” (Quran 93: 5)
- “Do not lose heart nor fall into despair! You shall triumph if you are believers.” (Quran 3:139)
Hope is the one thing that can help us get through the darkest of times. If you’re going through a difficult time, or need some inspiration to help guide you in your next phase of life, In fact, hope is best gained after defeat and failure, because then inner strength and toughness are produced. A positive statement propels hope toward a better future, it builds up your faith and that of others and promotes change. Allah says:
“Wealth and children are the only adornments of the worldly life, but enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for one’s hope.” (Surah Al-Kahf 18:46)
Hope is a positive expectation that we have about a future outcome. Allah makes people recall His blessings. Everyone in this world can relate to the fact that they feel needy in some situations and then they communicate with Allah for easiness in their life. Allah indeed blesses them with what they have asked for and then such people get satisfied with their needs. Allah promises us that every difficulty is a relief. We must never lose hope that our situation will improve. Remember that worry and regret often lead to a cycle of hopeless thoughts.
