Hypocrites resort to two-facedness

The Concept of Trust in Allah

Trust involves belief, dependence and action mean we have to rely on Allah because without His permission nothing could happen or occur. If we believe in Allah then it means we have our faith in Him, so we can say Trust is part of One’s faith. Anytime a Muslim is making a decision, he or she should seek Allah’s guidance and wisdom. Allah alone knows what is best for us, and there may be good in what we perceive as bad, and bad in what we perceive as good. Allah says:

“Said two men from those who feared (Allah), Allah had Favored [on] both of them, “Enter upon them (through) the gate than when you have entered it then indeed, you (will be) victorious. And upon Allah then put your trust if you are believers.” (Surah Al-Ma`idah 5:23)

In life, we have to make a decision, from small things to big ones with much consideration. But often we can’t stretch the time to think long and the decision should be made quickly. The first thing you should do is consult a reliable, pious and knowledgeable person, who you trust. Get their sound opinion regarding the matter at hand and consider their advice while making the final decision. Allah says:

“Allah, (there is) no god except Him. And upon Allah let put (their) trust the believers.” (Surah At-Taghabun 64:13)

Allah becomes sufficient for you the very moment you put your entire trust in him. Make dua and have trust in Allah. You may have made the right decision, but to follow through a decision correctly needs lots of dua, and trust in Allah. Involve Allah in every business and it will go well. Don’t forget to make dua to Allah SWT so that you won’t fall in the wrong direction. Allah says:

“When inclined two parties among you that they lost heart, but Allah (was) their protector. And on Allah let put (their) trust the believers.” (Surah Al-Imran 3:122)

A relationship with Allah is the most important relationship you can have. Trust him and everything will always turn out fine. Tawakkal is that precious quality that brings peace of mind in this world and entrance in Jannah without judgement in the hereafter. If you trust in Allah then nothing is impossible for you. Our hearts get purified when We put trust in Allah.

We trust Allah on all things no matter its worldly affairs or related to Deen. When you’re in doubt, a gut feeling can read the situation better. Following your intuition is best rather than letting your heart takes the lead. You can’t trust your heart which is easily blinded by emotion. Depending on your heart while making a crucial decision is like driving with your eyes blindfolded. Allah says:

“Only the believers (are) those who when Allah is mentioned feel fear their hearts, and when are recited to them His Verses, they increase them (in) faith, and upon their Lord, they put their trust.” (Surah Al-Anfal 8:2)

Even if you have tried your best so that your decision is not rushed, you always have the tendencies when you make an early decision. However, you have to be visionary upon deciding something. It must have a positive purpose in the future. Avoid making a decision that clashes with your belief, serving unjust to the society, or lack of meaning.

Trust in Allah) is a jar that has been sealed with Allah’s seal:

  • The purification of the heart by the true faith and Eiman by Allah alone, and place their trust in him
  • The purification of the senses from sins and Fawahish (immoral actions and intents)
  • The monitoring of one’s self, critiquing oneself
  • The performance of Ibadat Allah
  • Spending in the sake of Allah
  • Then the element of grace by defeating aggression and self-satisfaction, self-centred tendencies.
  • The good social cohesion, and the fairness, unbiased opinion and views expressed through shura (consultation)

Putting trust in Allah, for gaining the benefits, having protection from the harm, gaining provisions, having victory over the enemies, healing the patients and many other things, is one of the most important things and one of the most definite duties. Moreover, it is among the characteristics of the believers and the requirements of faith the reasons for the heart’s strength and vitality and the reasons for one’s tranquillity and rest. Allah says:

“So whatever you are given of a thing, (is) but a passing enjoyment (for) the life (of) the world. But what (is) with Allah (is) better and more lasting for those who believe and upon their Lord put (their) trust.” (Surah Ash-Shura 42:36)

In every step of your life, don’t forget to look for Allah’s guidance. It is also applied when you’re about to make a decision so that you can minimize the error. Here is last but not least. Don’t forget to say Bismillah before you act. Bismillahhas its own miracle, in which Allah SWT will provide you with shelter, and protection from danger.

Allah Almighty says in The Holy Quran:

  • “They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are successful.” (Al-Baqarah, 2:5)
  • “If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their trust.” (AL-E-IMRAN 160)
  • “Then I will come upon them from the front and from the rear, and from their right and from their left. And You will not find most of them thankful.” (Quran 7:17)
  • “Say: “Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector”: and on Allah let the believers put their trust.” (AL-TAWBA, 51)
  • “We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth and the Mountains; but they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: but man undertook it;- He was indeed unjust and foolish.” (Surah Al-Ahzab, 72)
  • “For, Believers are those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their hearts, and when they hear His signs rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and put (all) their trust in their Lord.” (Surah Al-Anfal, 2)
  • “And consult them in the affair. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah.” (Quran 3:159)

Making a decision as early as possible is important, but thinking about it carefully is more important. By thinking, you have done a thorough analysis, drawn possibilities, and brainstormed yourself. Don’t forget to consider the implications of your decision. We find in this world noble people in whose company we can find it easier to stay closer to Allah’s truth. We can also find little satans in this world who are looking for easy prey to distract many of us from Allah’s message of truth. Allah says:

“Then they said, “Upon Allah, we put our trust. Our Lord! (Do) not make us a trial for the people – the wrongdoers.” (Surah Yunus 10:85)

Setting your mind right is important when you make a decision. Calm your heart first and be assured that you’re about to make the right decision. Erase all the hesitation and negative thoughts from your head. Always keep your mind occupied by Allah SWT. Remember Him through dhikr, every morning and evening. Ibn al Qayyim has said that dhikr holds numerous benefits such as erasing hardships, sadness, anxiety.
