Success is something that all human beings try to reach. In this world, some people are known to be successful. Others try to become like one of those successful people. And some people, who could never become like any of the successful characters, become depressed for the rest of their miserable, hopeless life. Allah says:
“Then when is concluded the prayer, then disperse in the land and seek from (the) Bounty of Allah, and remember Allah much so that you may succeed.” (Surah Al-Jumu`ah 62:10)
Before you become a successful person, prove that you are useful and helpful to everyone around you. So that when you reach the top someday, you stay humbled and devote your success for the good of others. Between two opportunities, choose one that is the most possible. If you are sure about what you’re going to do, it’s easier for you to be successful. Allah says:
“And let there be among you [a] people inviting to the good [and] enjoining the right and forbidding from the wrong, and those – they (are) the successful ones.” (Surah Al-Imran 3:104)
Success is undoubtedly a goal in life for everyone. But the path to success is never easy, and some give up in the middle. Only those who are strong enough will be able to finish the journey and reach success at the end of it. To be successful, many people do anything needed even when it’s violating law and people.

“And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger and fears Allah and (is) conscious of Him, then those [they] (are) the successful ones.” (Surah An-Nur 24:52)
Another way how to become successful in life in Islam is by never stopping learning. Exchange ideas and share minds with others so you can have many things to learn every day. All those people will help you to reach success faster than when you are doing it alone. Allah says:
“And who (is) more unjust than (he) who invents against Allah a lie or rejects His Signs? Indeed, not will be successful the wrongdoers.” (Surah Al-An`am 6:21)
A successful person is never satisfied with who he is today. He always wants to climb higher, be better, and improve every day. Set a high standard, even for yourself, so that you always want to be better. As a holistic way of life, our religion provided the way how to become successful in life in Islam.
Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:
- “And consult them in the matter.” (Quran, 3:159)
- “So indeed, with the hardship (is) ease.” (Quran 94:5)
- “Indeed, successful (are) the believers.” (Quran 23:1)
- “Indeed, for the righteous (is) success.” (Quran, 78:31)
- “Certainly, has succeeded (one) who purifies (himself).” (Quran 87:14)
- “He will indeed be successful who purifies his self, and he will indeed fail who corrupts his himself.” (Quran 91:9-10)
- “(Let) not deceive you (the) movement (of) those who disbelieved in the land.” (Quran, 78:31)
Everything begins with the intention. If we start something with the right intention, to seek fora blessing from Allah SWT, it will be easier for us. When we are working hard to be successful by looking at Allah SWT, He will always be with us. It matters more than anything. Allah says:
“Whoever is averted from it that Day then surely He had Mercy on him. And that (is) the success (the) clear.” (Surah Al-An`am 6:16)
Nobody will be able to reach for their goals unless they have a passion for them. Passion is an inner drive that motivates us to always work even harder and not give up. Passion is the main ingredient for success as it works as a machine that keeps us alive. Allah says:
“A Bounty from your Lord. That – it (will be) the success the great.” (Surah Ad-Dukhan 44:57)
If you have reached a point of success, don’t stay there for too long. While being grateful to Allah SWT, aim for a higher point of success in life. Don’t be lazy and use your time efficiently. With this very Islamic way, a Muslim will be successful not only in life but in the Hereafter as well. Allah says:
Here are some key principles of life which we have to follow the Islamic way of life living:
- Trust on Almighty Allah: The most important thing above all others is to believe in Allah in every aspect of life.
- Complete Faith in Allah: The major element of living an Islamic way of life is complete faith in Almighty Allah. It is an important life component that can help you out in making progress is faithfulness.
- Seek for Good: Being a Muslim it is the essential duty to be good and strives for spreading goodness.
- Consult with others and Give Sincere Advice to all: The vital Islamic rule that would help us in making progress at every step and living an Islamic way of life is a counsel with other people.
- Help People Around and Make their Life Easier: One of the major problems of the present world is that people are striving to make their life easier by making it difficult for others.
“But We shall be sure to guide to Our ways those who strive hard for Our cause: God is with those who do good.” (Surah Al-`Ankabut 29:69)
Despite everyone knowing that persistence is what they need to reach for success, most of them are unable to be. Persistence is the combination of pushing yourself to the limits and improving every day. By being persistent, you are always one step closer to your goals. Allah says:
“Indeed, those who believe and do the righteous deeds, for them (will be) Gardens flow from underneath it the rivers. That (is) the success the great.” (Surah Al-Buruj 85:11)
If we want to be successful in life, we may take a look at the life of the Prophet. In the verse above, it was Ibrahim who devotedly focuses on reaching his goal as a hanif. Stay focused on what you aim for, do it in the right way, and remove all the distractions. Always look for new ideas, be open to new concepts, and never be afraid to innovate new things. Allah says:
“O you who believe! When you meet a force, then be firm and remember Allah much, so that you may (be) successful.” (Surah Al-Anfal 8:45)
Life is full of surprises, even the unpleasant ones. Always think positive of Allah SWT, because there are blessings in disguise. Those are the ways how to become successful in life in Islam. One thing you must remember is that success is due to Allah and from Allah. So always be in remembrance of Allah SWT when you make your effort toward success.
