We live in a chaotic and uncertain world. God never leaves us or abandons us. Although sometimes we don’t sense that He’s there with us, He is. God has given us all the tools we need to succeed in this spiritual life. The devil likes to try to play tricks on us, making us believe that God’s not there and that we’re all alone. But part of becoming spiritually mature is understanding that God is there and having faith in Him, even when we haven’t heard from Him. Allah says:

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُهُ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

“The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful. When his verses are recited to them, it increases their faith, and they rely upon their Lord.” (Surat al-Anfal 8:2)

Quran was the last Holy book that Allah Almighty revealed and gives to humans by His Prophet Muhammad SAW. Allah revealed the Quran is not just for good or bad deeds or prayers or tells about rules or being greatest of Holy book with beautiful structure language. God sees and understands your heart. Allah says:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَخُونُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوا أَمَانَاتِكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

“O you who believe! (Do) not betray Allah and the Messenger, or betray your trusts while you know.” (Surah Al-Anfal 8:27)

God’s love is unconditional and infinite — far beyond what even the best of people are capable of. God commands those who follow Him to love one another. The beauty of God’s love is that He offers it freely. He wants to have a loving relationship with you forever. His Spirit also allows you to love with a love greater than you could have on your own.

Here are some effective tips to make a decision earlier in the trust and reliance on Allah:

1. Trust in Allah means to decide and have Tawakkal
2. Trust in Allah on Allah relying on loss or success
3. Trust in Allah means to consult a fellow believer
4. Trust in Allah means to think before you decide
5. Trust in Allah no matter what he has put on us
6. Trust in Allah to rely on Allah in all our affairs
7. Trust in Allah attribute the pleasure of Allah
8. Trust in Allah must be strong and rely upon
9. Trust in Allah and pray to Allah SWT
10. Trust in Allah means to put into action
11. Trust in Allah and consider all possibility
12. Trust in Allah means to trust your intuition
13. Trust in Allah and ask for Allah’s guidance
14. Trust in Allah and avoid negative thoughts
15. Trust in Allah means to start alt with Bismillah
16. Trust in Allah turn the success in the Hereafter
17. Trust in Allah to consult and then take a decision
18. Trust in Allah turn lead to goodness in this world
19. Trust in Allah will be going to be an end by His Mercy

Trust is to look at what is Imaan. It is not just having faith in the heart, but it is a combination of faith and action. Similarly, reliance on Allah does not mean giving up on your efforts. Rather it is to strive with the attitude that Allah will take care of your affairs and will help you get through the trials. You should always plan and work based on what Allah has blessed you with. Allah says:

وَإِن جَنَحُوا لِلسَّلْمِ فَاجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

“If they incline to peace, then incline to it also and rely upon Allah. Verily, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing.” (Surah Al-Anfal 8:61)

When a believer realizes that Allah alone is in charge of everything, that He alone controls everything, he can hand his affair over to Allah. He can relax, knowing someone infinitely more capable is taking care of matters for Him. He can wholeheartedly rely on Allah. After your best efforts, accept whatever happens. Allah says:

الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

“Those to whom the people said: Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them! But it only increased their faith, and they said: Sufficient for us is Allah, and he is an excellent guardian.” (Surah Al Imran 3:173)

God saved you by His special favour. Tawakkul is part of the completion of one’s faith. We should do everything available to us to reach our goals. We must avoid a common pitfall. We tend to either rely on our efforts and forget to trust Allah or we think we are relying on Allah by not adopting any practical measures to solve our problems. Allah says:

فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ

“When you have made the decision, rely upon Allah. Verily, Allah loves those who trust him.” (Surah Al Imran 3:159)

Reliance to Allah is an act of worship. Through our devoted trust and reliance, we express our monotheistic belief, and therefore these are things we should direct towards Allah alone. We should fully use those blessings by thanking Allah for them, without getting puffed up with arrogance about our strengths. All our strength and ability is from Allah and ultimately it’s the favour of Allah that will determine our success. Allah says:

فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ الْمُبِينِ

“So put your trust in Allah, indeed, you (are) on the truth manifest.” (Surah An-Naml 27:79)

Mankind is sinful. We only have to look at the world around us to know this is true. You and I have not lived up to the standard of God’s holy and perfect law. As a result of our sin, we are separated from God. In this state of separation, we cannot know God or experience the peace and hope of the life He has planned for us. God’s deep love for each one of us, He provided the way of salvation.

May Allah (SWT) grant us wisdom to follow the verses:

• “He is the Disposer of all Affairs.” (Quran 6:102)
• “Allah is sufficient as Disposer of Affairs.” (Quran 4:81)
• “And in Allah let the believers put their trust.” (Quran 14:11)
• “I expose my distress and anguish only unto Allah…” (Quran 12:86)
• “So seek provision from Allah and worship Him (Alone).” (Quran 29: 17)
• “And whoever relies on Allah completely – He is more than enough for him.” (Quran 65:3)
• …….. “for We have revealed you the Book (Quran) as an exposition of everything and as guidance and grace and happy tidings for those who submit.” (Quran 14:89)
• “Our Lord, give us good in this World and in the Hereafter and protect us from the torment of the Fire.” (Quran 2:201)
• “You may dislike something although it is good for you, or like something, although it is bad for you.” (Quran 2:216)

We can also talk to God in prayer anytime and anywhere. When we learn that God is there and that He’s doing His part, we can have peace and comfort knowing that we’re not alone and that we’re in fact, empowered by His Spirit to press on and stand firm in our faith. Fill your mind with the promises of God, and He will give you the comfort and help you need.

Here is some Ayat to get you through hardship:

• You may hate a thing that is good for you: “God loves those who are steadfast.” (Quran 3:146)
• If you believe, you will be tested: “Do people think they will be left alone after saying ‘We believe’ without being put to the test?” (Quran 29:2)
• He never burdens a soul beyond what it can bear: “God does not burden any soul with more than it can bear.” (Quran 2:286)
• If Allah desires good for someone he faces hardship: “When Allah (SWT) desires good for someone, He tries him with hardships.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

We need to apply tawakkul in our daily lives. One of the major benefits of tawakkul is that it can relieve us from unnecessary anxiety, worry, and resulting depression from the daily challenges. By believing that all our affairs are in Allah’s hands and we can do only what is in our control, we leave the results to Allah and accept His decree whatever it may be. Allah says:

وَلَا تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ ۖ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِّنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

“Do not invoke besides Allah that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did so then you would-be wrongdoers.” (Surah Yunus 10:106)

God loves you and has an incredible future planned for you. Our sin has separated us from God. Allah is the decision-maker, every happening is in favour of the believers: because everything has been planned for the benefit of religion and the hereafter of the believers. For that reason, believers trust and rely only on Allah. Don’t give yourself the headache of ‘how’ and ‘when’ things will work out because your egoic mind will never be satisfied. Many people accept it in theory but deny it in Practice.
